Foodbank donation points around Exeter

This National Foodbank Day, we’re looking at ways in which we can support the foodbank network. We’ve put together a comprehensive list of all foodbank donation points in the Exeter area, and if you are able to, we encourage you to consider donating some much needed items to those in need.

Every day in the UK people go hungry, for a variety of reasons ranging from redundancy to unexpected bills. A simple donation of food makes a real difference, and ultimately helps to prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown, and mental health problems.

About Exeter Foodbank

Exeter Foodbank was created in 2008 to help local people, many of whom had been affected by the financial crisis. The Foodbank was founded by local churches and community groups, with the aim to prevent hunger in the local area. Since their inception, Exeter Foodbank has grown to include over 100 volunteers.

About the Trussell Trust

The Trussell Trust supports communities and churches in their mission to open foodbanks across the UK. Exeter Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trusts network of 428 foodbanks. In 2021/22, The Trussell Trust’s network of foodbanks provided 2,173,158 three-day emergency food supplies and support to people in crisis across the UK.

Over 90% of food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public.

How do foodbanks work?

Where are my local donation points?

Before donating food, check out the Exeter Foodbank website to find out what items are needed. Donated items must be in-date, non-perishable, and not include alcohol. Other items, such as toiletries, nappies, and sanitary items are also appreciated, and will be indicated on the website’s Priority List.
